Land Legacy Society

In the fall of 2004, Gathering Waters Conservancy introduced the Land Legacy Society, a special opportunity to protect Wisconsin’s lands and waters. The Land Legacy Society is a club made up of individuals who share our love for Wisconsin and who have made a commitment to donate $1,000 or more annually to Gathering Waters to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of our programs.

The Land Legacy Society is picking up the pace of conservation in Wisconsin. With the strong support of the Society, ten years from now:

Land trusts will be a part of every landowner’s vocabulary. Just as landowners know that they can pick up the phone and call a realtor, they will also know that they can contact their local land trust.

Land trusts will be community institutions as important as the local library, YMCA or art museum in contributing to the overall health and vitality of their communities.

Public policies will reflect our conservation values and programs like the Stewardship Fund, the state’s premiere land conservation program, will enjoy strong bipartisan support.

Become a Land Legacy Society Member today

If you share our love for the scenic beauty of Wisconsin and have the means, please consider joining the Land Legacy Society today. The future of our state’s natural landscape lies in the hands of its proactive and impassioned citizens.

You can support Gathering Waters of the Land Legacy Society with your annual gift of $1,000 or greater. Members of the Society receive the following benefits:

• Quarterly newsletters and invitations to all GWC events
• Society member-only festivities across the state, including Gather Waters board members’ homes
• Special updates on Gathering Waters Conservancy’s programs and policy efforts
• Recognition in Gathering Waters’ publications and Land Legacy Society literature
• Opportunities for on-on-one meetings with Gathering Waters Conservancy staff and board members

We are happy to accept your contributions in the form of checks, credit card payments, stocks or bonds, or payroll deductions through Community Shares of Wisconsin. Payments can also be made in installments. For more information on the Society or to discuss giving options, please contact Gathering Waters’ Member Relations Director Sara DeKok at 608.251.9131 x 10 or sara [at] gatheringwaters.org.
