2018 Annual Member Meeting

Members and friends are invited to attend the Annual Member Meeting of Mississippi Valley Conservancy on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The event program will include Conservancy news and previews of 2018 events and activities. Special guest Jennifer Redell will present information about the beneficial role of bats and their habitat needs. She will demonstrate the use of an echolocator in locating and protecting bats with several live bats she’ll be bringing to the event. Redell is Conservation Biologist/Cave & Mine Specialist for the Wisconsin Bat Program of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Also presenting will be Ansel Brenneman, a student from Viroqua’s Laurel High School who will be reporting on the outcome of his 8th grade bat education project.

Midwest Crane Count

Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center 5:30 AM - 7:30 AM
Hosted by The Ridges Sanctuary. The primary purposes of the Crane Count is to help monitor the abundance and distribution of cranes in the Upper Midwest and to introduce people to cranes and their natural environment. Counters are needed to survey for cranes on designated sites throughout Door County. No previous experience needed.
