Seedlings: The Creek & Its Critters PM

Identify through pictures, games, and classroom instruction, critters that kiddos might see/and find while exploring the creek. Staff will work with their group to identify their catches and talk about characteristics, adaptations, and the creek itself! Including water quality, impacts, and habitat. Jump in the creek with water sampling kits, nets, and seines to explore what’s in the creek and identify fish and other critters! 3rd - 5th grade ($75.00)

Farm Tour

Treinen Family Farm 7410 Norway Rd, DeForest, WI 53532 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Meet farm family Vern and Vicki Treinen on their 184-acre farm in Windsor, which has some of the best soil in the nation. The Treinens protected their dairy heifer farm with a permanent conservation easement in 2010. After the tour, we will have refreshments and snacks in their yard.

Reviving a Lost Prairie Landscape

We’ll see the progress being made in bringing back to life degraded remnant prairies, gradually converting non-native cool-season grass to native prairie, renovating streams, wetlands and seeps, and planting agricultural fields to prairie.
