Bald Eagle Day

S Lake Shore Dr, Fontana Blvd, Fontana-On-Geneva Lake 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Search the skies and help count the number of Bald Eagles in Walworth County with Kettle Moraine Land Trust, the US Fish & Wildlife staff and Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge at Geneva Lake Beach.  Learn about the recent movements and life history of these majestic birds of prey.  A few binoculars will be available so please bring your own if you have them.  This event is great for families and children.  Geneva Lake Beach is located at the west end of sparkling Lake Geneva in Fontana. Dane Savanna Clearing, Cross Plains Reserve

Cross Plains Ice Age Scientific Reserve 9:00 AM
Join Ice Age Trail Alliance as they continue ongoing restoration work at this site.  Besides hand work, there will be work for trained chain sawyers with proper protective gear. You'll burn some slash piles if there’s snow cover, and cook lunch over the coals.  Wear old clothing made of natural fibers to work around fires. Adelman Schwartz Preserve Workday

North Lake, Elkhorn, 53121 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
This small 2 acre hilltop prairie is protected by the Kettle Moraine Land Trust with a conservation easement. The preserve is located south of Whitewater and overlooks North Lake. Join the property owner, The Prairie Enthusiasts, as they remove buckthorn and other aggressive and non native species to help the prairie thrive.  Bring gloves and loppers if you have them.
