lands

Subject: Gathering Waters Policy Update: Testifying in Stewardship
land/Transmission line case
Greetings on this chilly first day of winter!
I wanted to bring to your attention to a worrisome,
precedent-setting case where a transmission line may be run across
lands protected with Knowles-Nelson Stewardship funds. In Jefferson
County, the American Transmission Company is proposing a transmission
line that would run through the Madison Audubon Society's Faville
Grove Sanctuary. See
the comments I submitted on behalf of Gathering Waters Conservancy
for more information.
The deadline for submitting comments on this case
was recently extended until December 23. The Public Service Commission
will be determining the route of the transmission line as early
as next month. We do not want to see Stewardship lands at Faville
Grove Sanctuary condemned!
