Development Director – Driftless Area Land Conservancy

The Driftless Area Land Conservancy (DALC) is seeking a Development Director passionate about protecting the beautiful Driftless Area and connecting people to nature. The Development Director (DD) works closely with the Executive Director and the Fundraising & Board Development Committee to plan, implement, and coordinate effective multi-year donor strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation, and individual donors.

The DD is responsible for managing a portfolio of qualified donors and building strong relationships with them to achieve organizational fundraising goals. The DD understands and applies complex principles of fundraising and development, including donor and prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. They will be responsible for direct asks and can discuss complex gift scenarios, including gifts of financial and nonfinancial assets and other non-cash gifts, such as planned gifts and trade lands. The DD involves and engages appropriate partners across the organization in donor cultivation and stewardship and prepares pertinent briefings, memos, and reports.
