July 11 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Explore the natural beauty of the lower Chippewa River on this 3-4 hour paddle. The lower Chippewa River is historically significant to indigenous tribes and the lumber industry. The river and surrounding lands are home to various wildlife and have unique natural communities.
This section of river is well-loved for recreation including swimming, tubing, rock hunting, fishing, canoeing, wildlife watching, and more. Learn about conservation efforts that are keeping this waterway healthy from representatives of Landmark Conservancy and the Lower Chippewa River Alliance.
Start paddling at Hobb’s Landing. Stop for lunch at the sand bar across from the Elk Creek Bottoms Nature Preserve, where Elk Creek empties into the Chippewa River. End at Holte’s Landing and carpool back to the start.
Kayaks, canoes, paddles, and life vests provided. If you’d like to bring your own boat, please note that the outfitter is not able to transport boats that are not theirs and you will be responsible for transportation.
The cost to participate is $75 and capacity is limited to 15 people. Register here.
