2025 Schedule and Class Details
- May 30th – Let’s Go Frogging!
Grab your boots—it’s time to explore the pond! Search for frogs and tadpoles, learn about amphibian life cycles, and discover the importance of these amazing creatures in our ecosystem. - June 13th – Creek Critters
Take a closer look beneath the surface! Families will investigate macroinvertebrates living in Baird Creek. From mayfly larvae to crayfish, kids will get to dip nets and identify these tiny but mighty indicators of stream health. - July 11th – Fishy Friends
What lives under the water? Let’s find out together! Learn about local fish species, their habitats, and how we can help protect them. Families will enjoy jumping in the creek as we use a giant seine net to temporarily capture fish before releasing them back in to the creek. - July 25th – Nature Hike & Exploration
End the season with a classic guided nature hike! Explore forest trails, play nature-based games, and practice observation skills to uncover the hidden wildlife and plants of Baird Creek.
Expect plenty of outdoor fun, movement, discovery, and chances to connect with the natural world in a family-friendly environment. There is a porta-potty at the starting location, but there will be no access to the building.
All ages are welcome. Each event costs $15/family. More information here.
