A two hour tour of a transitional terrain. The blooms might be blanketed by snow, but there will still be plenty of flora features to notice. The hike will start on the terminal moraine and drop down off the old glacier’s edge into a valley that carried away the meltwaters. Unglaciated hills, including Blue Mounds are in the distance.
Snowshoes or boot traction, hiking poles suggested depending on ground cover. NO facilities on site. Red headlamp preserves night vision. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome. No parking in the curve of the cul-de-sac per fire lane regulations.
