August 17 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Learn about the geology of the Lake Superior Region, which is home to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the state.
Visit four waterfalls, enjoy picturesque views, and learn about the geologic history that is responsible for their creation from geologist Tom Fitz.
While at Copper Falls State Park, take a short hike along the Tyler Forks River to highlight the trail system that connects to the adjacent 590-acre Tyler Forks Community Forest.
Restrooms are available at various locations along the trip. Some of the trip will be caravanning, so please make sure your vehicle has a full tank of gas.
Please pack a lunch. Bring sunscreen, insect repellant, and water. Be ready for wet or muddy conditions and to get a little dirty. Wear sturdy footwear. Dress in layers. The trip will go rain or shine.
