Join the Three Waters Reserve and the Lower Sugar River Watershed Association for this exciting presentation about dragonflies and damselflies by Wisconsin Master Naturalist Bob Honig.

In this Lunch and Learn you will learn how to tell dragonflies and damselflies apart by their features and behaviors, as well as finding out the answers to those burning questions: Can dragonflies prey on birds? What is the killer lip? And what backyard pond features will attract them?

Bob has been observing and studying nature for most of his life. He earned an M.S. degree in zoology/aquatic ecology, and he is a retired environmental consultant who has addressed issues including endangered species, wetlands, archaeology, recycling, and sustainability.

He has been an active volunteer for conservation organizations for four decades in Texas and continues to do so in Wisconsin after moving here in 2021, supporting community science and educational activities. Bob spends lots of time wildlife watching, particularly birds and dragonflies and damselflies, and helping in the garden at home.

After the Lunch and Learn, join Bob for an optional short walk to the TWR wetland to see if any are out and about. Please dress for the weather and have appropriate footwear if you want to go on the walk.

Event cost (including lunch) is $19.95. Register here.
