Discover the trees of Fitzsimmons Woods with the Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy.

Identify trees together and estimate their age while exploring this remnant Southern Hardwood Forest with ephemeral wetlands. Expect to find Red Oaks, Sugar Maples, American Beech and other species, many of significant age.

While Fitzsimmons Woods has an easy, flat terrain, it’s important to watch your step as the group will venture both on and off the rustic trail.  Comfortable shoes and long pants are recommended. Bring your smart phone if you wish to use a plant ID app such as iNaturalist or Seek.

This event is free and open to the public – space is limited. Register to reserve a spot here.

This event is part of Wisconsin Land Trust Days. Learn more at HaveFunOutside.org.
