Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation invites you a CLCF Nature Series Talk featuring Buddy Huffaker, Executive Director of the Aldo Leopold Foundation.

Huffaker will share his presentation, The Makings of a Movement; Conservation’s Past, Present, and Future. The conservation movement has deep roots in America but continues to respond to challenges and opportunities. A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold, has served as one of the movement’s most important cornerstones. Having been translated into 16 different languages and just celebrating its 75th anniversary, Buddy will share the unlikely story of this now classic and how Leopold’s call for a Land Ethic remains as relevant as ever and continues to inform and inspire conservation – including the work of the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation.

Buddy Huffaker joined the Aldo Leopold Foundation in 1996 as a seasonal intern and has served as Executive Director since 1999. The foundation continues the Leopold family’s commitment to stewardship through the restoration and management of the 4,000 acre Leopold-Pines Conservation Area and by using this experience to inform and inspire other landowners to adopt and implement their own land ethic.

This is a free event. Please RSVP in advance here.
