February 1 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

This field trip has been rescheduled to February 1, 10am-12pm due to extreme cold forecasted for the original date on January 25.
Join Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance to explore the beautiful Fair Meadows Sanctuary and State Natural Area in mid-winter. Look and listen for birds and mammals, and enjoy the vistas of the prairies and woodlands in the quiet of the season, hopefully covered in snow. Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Dark-eyed Juncos, and more are all expected to make an appearance. If you’re lucky, you might see otter slides and other mammal tracks!
The route will be determined by snow depth and terrain to ensure participants feel safe and comfortable during the hike. Snowshoes are optional.
Registration is limited to 20 people. Register here.
