Wisconsin’s Green Fire: Voices for Conservation (WGF) is seeking their next Executive Director. Some responsibilities of this role include building and leading an effective team dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising; creating strategic plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with board of directors; meeting annual fundraising goals, securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources; serving as the spokesperson of the organization and participating in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand; developing strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs; managing staff members and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization. The ideal candidate cares deeply about Wisconsin and our natural resources, thinks of possibilities and embraces new ideas, respects different viewpoints, is willing to explore complex issues and solve problems, enjoys coordinating group efforts to understand and share knowledge with the public, and relishes the nimbleness of a nonprofit in making a difference in the world.
Wisconsin’s Green Fire: Voices for Conservation maintains a non-partisan stance applying sound science to current issues. The group has a deep bench of natural resource professionals that contribute their expertise to significant issues. WGF advises policy on Wisconsin’s greatest conservation challenges such as clean water, biodiversity, natural climate solutions, and land use practices. They serve a unique and growing role of providing trusted information in Wisconsin on natural resources conservation, and they also support the development of future conservation leaders through mentoring programs, scholarships, and fellowships.
