Mike has been with Gathering Waters: Wisconsin's Alliance for Land Trusts since 2008, previously serving as the organization's Government Relations Director and External Relations Director. In his current role as Executive Director, Mike has overall responsibility for leading and managing the organization and continues to act as an advocate and a liaison for Wisconsin’s land trusts on state and federal policy issues. He moved to Madison in 2002 to pursue a dual degree in Law and Land Resources at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, completing the program in 2007 with an M.S. and a J.D. Mike grew up in Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

Mike and his wife, Allison, enjoy spending time exploring the outdoors with their son, Jonas, daughter, Johanna, and Chocolate Lab, Finley. Mike is also an avid sportsman and enjoys time spent hunting and fishing throughout the year.
