And the 2012 Photo Contest Winners are…

As our 2012 Photo Contest comes to an end, please join us in thanking the dozens of photographers whose talent and creativity have left us inspired and eager to get outside and enjoy all that Wisconsin has to offer.  Through their lenses, we’re reminded of how many special places there are across the state.

So without further ado, please join us in recognizing the winners in each of our contest categories:

Student Submission

Lake Mendota

 People Protecting Wisconsin

Wisconsin Land Trusts

Black Earth Creek Valley

Celebrating the Seasons
We received so many beautiful photos in this category that we decided to choose winning photos that represent each season.

Not only is this photo our winning spring photo, but it is also the overall winning contest photo.  Congratulations to photographer Ralph Curtis who took this artfully captured and charming photo in Waukesha County.

Not only will you see these special images of Wisconsin featured throughout GWC’s materials, but they will also be printed, framed, and given to the award winners at our Land Conservation Leadership Awards Celebration on October 4th.  If you haven’t already RSVPed for this special event, please do so today!

A very special thank you to our volunteer, Justin Palm, who organized this year’s photo contest, and to our photo contest judges: Ellen Meany, Creative Director for Isthmus Publishing; Althea Dotzour of Althea Dotzour Photography; and Tracy Harris, graphic designer and photographer with Cricket Design Works.
