Area Scouts Create New Ice Age Trail Designation Sign

Area scouts created signage along part of the Ice Age Trail, taking inspiration from signage seen along the Appalachian Trail. This scout project supports ongoing efforts by the Ice Age Trail Alliance to enhance trail sections around the state.

Seventeen scouts from three troops collaborated to design and create a new destination sign for the Ice Age Trail access point at Frenchtown Road outside of Belleville. The sign lists the mileage to important spots ahead, including the next major road crossing, a water source, and more. It is among only a few destination signs on the 1,200-mile trail.
