A new coffee table photo book featuring different people and places along the Ice Age Trail is now available for purchase. The author and photographer, Cameron Gillie, put together the book after hiking the 1,200-mile Ice Ace Trail over the course of about two years, taking photos along the way.
The Madison-based Gillie wanted to capture what he saw in the towns along the way, including the business and people he interacted with.
Quoted in this article by the Journal Sentinel, Gillie said, “I’m usually an introvert… But the best piece of advice I can give anyone hiking the Ice Age Trail, or any other kind of travel, is to talk to strangers, listen to their stories, and enjoy their company. The people you meet along the way are the best part of any journey you take.”
The book, Around Wisco: Hiking the Ice Age Trail – The Landscapes, Communities, and People of Wisconsin, is available on Gillie’s website: aroundwisco.com.
