Chippewa County Land Conservancy Announces Newest Preserve

Narrow stream running through a wooded area.

Chippewa County Land Conservancy acquired a new preserve: the Hicks Wildlife and Nature Preserve, which joins the six other preserves owned by the Conservancy. The 13-acre property is located along Lake Wissota between Chippewa Falls and Jim Falls, and was donated by Sandra Hicks. It features a clear, free-flowing stream that runs through a wooded valley.

The Conservancy plans to develop trails in the future for walking and wildlife viewing. The property can currently be accessed from a cul-de-sac at approximately 17500 120th Ave, Chippewa Falls WI, and walking west into the woods.
