Carl Cochrane and Bill Utley will be leading this birding hike at Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Nature Preserve. Carl will introduce the incredible smartphone app called, “Merlin Bird ID”, which may be used throughout the hike. Bring your smartphone fully charged to participate. He will also provide participants with several mnemonic devices that can be useful in identifying bird sounds. Visit two very different habitats and discuss the importance of habitat in successful bird identification.
