Join the Empire-Sauk Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts for a special social and educational event for the whole family. Enjoy an outdoor experience at some of the largest and most beautiful prairie and oak savanna preserves in southern Wisconsin. Whether young or old, completely new to prairies or an experienced Enthusiast wanting to know more about the decades of restoration work on these remarkable sites, there will be something in the program for all to enjoy and learn.
Friday, September 20th – Mount Horeb, WI
A social gathering at a local pub (TBD).
Saturday, September 21st – Barneveld, WI
An all-day program at the largest of TPE’s preserves, the Mounds View Grassland. Includes educational sessions for all ages and levels of experience, a catered lunch, and an evening social bonfire, with a special opportunity to observe moths and other night insects.
Sunday, September 22nd – Vermont, WI
A morning hiking tour of two adjoining preserves, Parrish Savanna and Pleasure Valley.
