Join Northwoods Land Trust and Minocqua Winter Park to hike to the top of Squirrel Hill to view the fall colors.

During the event, guests will hike a 3-mile (5 km) loop that visits the two highest points at the popular winter recreation facility. This trail is located within the 3,195-acre conservation easement currently held by Northwoods Land Trust, on land owned and managed by the Minocqua Winter Park Foundation.

At this time of year, bugs should be at a minimum and fall colors should be nearing their maximum! Scenic overlooks in the heavily forested, fairly flat part of northern Wisconsin are not all that common, so this should provide great panoramic views. Participants should be able to see parts of the Yukon and Squirrel River from various vantage points. This hike is rated as strenuous due to the vertical relief encountered.

This event is free and open to the public. Event capacity is 20 people.

Please register online or contact the Northwoods Land Trust office at 715-479-2490 or email troy@northwoodslandtrust.org by September 26.

This event is part of Wisconsin Land Trust Days. Learn more at HaveFunOutside.org.
