Every year, monarch butterflies make their way from the Midwest down to a select number of mountain forests in central Mexico where they overwinter. Join the Green-Rock Audubon Society during the peak of migration for monarchs through the area. Monarch butterflies will be captured using butterfly nets and tagged as part of the Monarch Watch monitoring program of the University of Kansas. Presentation topics include the life cycle of the monarch in Wisconsin, threats to their survival, what you can do to help them, and a chance to see monarchs up close and help re-release them to continue their migration.

For more information on this event, please visit the Green-Rock Audubon Society’s event page.
