Enjoy a history hike to view Geneva Lake Conservancy’s land acquisition: Anglin Family Nature Preserve, Lake Ivanhoe
Lake Ivanhoe was formed in the 1920s by three Chicagoan businessman who wanted a safe retreat for African Americans. The 120-acre Anglin Family Nature Preserve was recently established to honor this legacy. Hike to see a calcareous fens, tamarack swamp, and remnant oak savanna and hear the fascinating history of one of the first African American resort communities in the Midwest.
