The future of our local farms is at a turning point. The average farmer is 58 years old. And that number is only going up. In the next 20 years, about a third of American farmland will have new owners. New owners can bring drastic changes like development. Dane County is the fastest growing county in Wisconsin. If we want to preserve our farms and farmland for the next generation, we have to start planning now.

Transferring a farm can be complicated, unless you have help. Groundswell Conservancy in partnership with the Land Transfer Navigators project is hosting a free panel discussion on how to make sure your farm is protected. The panel will feature a professional planner and farmers. They will tell you how they have ensured thousands of acres will remain farmable. You will hear their experiences with the legal, financial and emotional stressors involved so you know how to handle them with ease. The discussion will be immediately followed by a Q&A session so you can get insight into your exact situation.

RSVP to reserve your seat at the panel and start planning your farming legacy.
