Walking meditation helps us slow down and appreciate our surroundings. Often, our days are filled with noises in our minds about our schedules, our worries and desires. This is normal, but it is healthy to slow down and smell the roses. What better place to slow down than Baird Creek?
No meditation experience is required. The walk begins at Christa McAuliffe Park, then down into Baird Creek. Please bring a walking stick and wear hiking boots and warm layers as we will not be walking quickly. The walk is somewhat steep and rigorous in that there are many roots and rocks and now, acorns in the path.
There will be some instruction, but mostly it is a practice of spending time with ourselves. While walking slowly, we can become more connected to our environment, our body and mind.
