Giving Tuesday 2021: Grateful For You

A t-shirt, YETI tumbler, set of cards, and nature guide on a counter with a Gathering Waters banner behind.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, occurring every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. In 2021, two generous donors offered to match all Giving Tuesday gifts made to Gathering Waters until we reached $10,000, doubling to $20,000 to support land conservation in Wisconsin. We’re so happy to report that we exceeded our goal. With the match, your donations helped raise over $26,000!!!

Here’s what our matching donor, Scott Froehlke, has to say about why he and his wife, Traci Peloquin, chose to support Gathering Water for Giving Tuesday.

“I respect the land trust idea and mission — partnering with private land owners to devise ways to protect land — plus the commitment to promote and shape our unique Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund. Gathering Waters pulls all this together. They are a critical player in the larger conservation community. The staff are experienced committed professionals who know their way around the State Capitol as well as a drumlin. They constantly think about how to get better at what they do. My wife and I are happy to support their work.”

Also as part of Giving Tuesday, staff at Gathering Waters shared photos and videos of our favorite protected places on social media. We also invited you to share your favorite places with us. Stay tuned to our social media in upcoming weeks to see your favorite spots!

Everyone who donated or submitted a favorite place by November 30, 2021 was entered into a drawing for prizes. The winners of the Giving Tuesday drawing are… Drumroll please!
