Groundswell Conservancy Purchases 40 Acres in Sauk County

A narrow stream in fall with bare trees and red dogwood.

Groundswell Conservancy acquired 40 acres of land in Sauk County at the Dell Creek Wildlife Area. The parcel includes part of Dell Creek and bordering land featuring wetlands and mixed oak forest. Wisconsin DNR wildlife biologist Nancy Frost advocated for the purchase to close the gap between a large tract of DNR-owned land at the wildlife area.

The purchase was funded by donors, Groundswell Conservancy’s Norm Anderson Conservation Opportunities Fund, and the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program.
