Kettle Moraine Land Trust (KMLT) seeks a seasonal intern for land management and basic ecologic restoration to implement KMLT’s land stewardship activities. The position also will participate in outreach programs and activities. This is a part-time, seasonal position.
This is a summer seasonal position funded for 200 hours (10-12 weeks or as arranged). Part-time 15-20 hours/week. $12-18/hr DOE, without benefits.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stewardship: Under the direction of KMLT staff, the intern will implement land management and maintenance activities in KMLT nature preserves and partner sites. Activities may include implementing control of non-native/invasive species and other ecological restoration, maintaining trails for the visiting public, collaborating with volunteers on stewardship workdays, maintaining tools/equipment, and participating in monitoring activities.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Education and Outreach: Assist with outreach activities and programs. Activities may include participating in youth-oriented education programs, assisting with volunteer activities, and promoting activities within the community to increase awareness of and support for KMLT.
- General Administration: Assist in maintaining and updating files and records of preserves and easements. Complete other duties as assigned by staff and site stewards.
