Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance (SoWBA) is hiring 1-3 full- or part time Limited-Term Employees to join their Goose Pond Sanctuary staff to collect and process seed for ongoing restorations in southern Wisconsin, as well as to perform other habitat restoration duties. Goose Pond Sanctuary is a collection of 730 acres of protected wetlands and restored tallgrass prairies located one mile south of Arlington and 17 miles north of Madison, WI. It is a haven for birds, but also for rare plants, insects, and other wildlife. The term of this position is September 9 – November 22, 2024, with some flexibility. Some collecting with volunteers on Saturday mornings may be required.

Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance has protected several thousand acres of critical habitat in south-central Wisconsin. Of all Audubon chapters nationwide, SoWBA is a nationally-accredited land trust and a leader in land stewardship, ranked third of over 450 chapters in total acreage managed for wildlife. SoWBA actively manages three wildlife sanctuaries and nearby properties to maximize their habitat value. Additionally, SoWBA has a long and continuing history of assisting other organizations and private landowners with land management and restoration projects.
