The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently purchased a 38-acre property along the Ice Age Trail in Waukesha County. Hikers will soon have an extra mile of Ice Age Trail to explore thanks to this land acquisition in the town of Ottawa.
The new trail will link to the existing Waterville segment of the Ice Age Trail, eliminating most of a dangerous road walk that hikers have to take on a through-hike between segments. The Ice Age Trail Alliance and the DNR plan to work together to build the one mile of trail plus a short interpretative loop trail and parking area.
