Two land trusts are working together to create 2.5 miles of the Ice Age Trail from Slinger to West Bend. This trail section will allow hikers to walk on a continuous marked trail. The cooperative effort between Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation (CLCF) and the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA) will close the gap where the route follows roadways, making the entire trail just for hiking.
“Walkers will get off busy highways and get (on) to a nice scenic natural surface,” said Kevin Thusius, senior director of land conservation at IATA. “It will be much safer, more scenic and bring neighbors together.”
