Attending Rally, the Land Trust Alliance’s annual conference, always reminds us of the multitude of great resources created by people in the conservation community. Here are just a few that we want to introduce–or remind you about.
Land Trust Standards and Practices Guidance
If your land trust is member of the Land Trust Alliance, you can log in to The Learning Center to access resources and peer network discussions, and track your online learning.
To access Standards and Practices Guidance, once you’re logged in, click on the magnifying glass icon in the left navigation bar, then Land Trust Standards and Practices, then 2017 Standards and Practices Guidance.
And, voilà! You’ll find compiled guidance for finance, governance, stewardship, and transaction elements, and narratives on individual practice elements. A veritable treasure trove of advice at your fingertips!

ConservationTools.org
This is an amazing resource library provided by our friends at the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association. There are guides on land use regulations, acquisition, stewardship, finance, recreation, research and education…as well as model documents. Their target is Pennsylvanians, but you will find many resources that are relevant for you. They put a lot of work into this and you should use it!
What resources did you come away from Rally with? A-ha moments? Please pass them along!
