With the purchase of Ringelstetter Wetland and a private landowner’s voluntary protection of their property near Blue Mounds via a conservation easement, Driftless Area Land Conservancy (DALC) now has 7,989 acres protected.

Watch a short video showing the 154 acres along the internationally important Lower Wisconsin Riverway that were protected with the Ringelstetter Wetland project. DALC plans to transfer this property to the DNR to become part of a long stretch of public land along the river. Soon, hunters and hikers from all over can join eagles, cranes, swans, and other wildlife in enjoying this prime habitat.
