Weyerhaeuser, located in Rusk County, joins a group of 23 Ice Age Trail Communities as the latest trail community to receive official designation. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and community dinner was held on October 5, 2024.
The Ice Age Trail Alliance will promote Weyerhauser as a hiking destination and will encourage visitors of the Trail to stop by local businesses while in the area.
“Being designated as an Ice Age Trail Community is an honor for Weyerhaeuser,” said David Wierzba, President of the Weyerhaeuser Area Community Club, Inc. “This partnership will encourage more people to explore our area while experiencing the beauty of the Trail. We look forward to welcoming hikers and showing them all Weyerhaeuser has to offer.”
