Ice Age Trail Alliance Pairs Young Creatives with Local Artists to Celebrate Pollinators

In a vibrant fusion of art and environmentalism, the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA) brought together creativity and conservation in a workshop at the Milton Public Library. As part of their Trailtessa series, the event paired young girls with local artists to celebrate and support pollinators.

“We’re partnering with female artists from the area and we invited young girls to come and join us, be creative and learn a little bit about pollinators,” said Amy Lord, IATA’s Outreach and Education Manager.

There were many different creative opportunities, including pottery and mosaic work. The girls also painted a mural created by Janesville artist Kegane Rynes, highlighting pollinators like bees, hummingbirds, and lightning bugs.

Pottery creations will be sold to support the library’s Story Garden, and the mural will be on display at the library’s first Monarch Festival on Saturday, September 7.
